Dreams and desires!
Turn your home into a vision board

A big part of feng shui is about affirmations and symbols – to be aware of what we surround ourselves with and to make conscious choices.

This is all about creating an environment that supports you – to acknowledge who you are, and to bring you closer to the life you want.

And, at some level, you’re probably already doing this – consciously or unconsciously – since we tend to have things we like and enjoy (duh!), and those more or less reflects who we are.

But you can really take this to the next level and use it to deliberately create a space that’s like your dreamland – and to live in it, already today.

So let’s see how you can get there – no flights or passports required!?

Let your vision be your mission

We’ve talked a bit about this before, but then it was about workspaces and somewhat also for kitchens but, of course, this whole idea is true for any space!

So – what do you envision for yourself and your life? What do you long and wish for? Big and small, long term and short term?

Travel more? Slow down? Build your own house? Pick up a new hobby? Change career?

Whatever you wish for, start to carefully look for and choose things that represent that – symbols with a personal meaning for YOU.

You can use pictures, photos, everyday objects, special things, quotes, books, clothes, toys – well, anything and everything that you associate with a certain dream of yours.

And no, you don’t have to get new stuff (if you don’t want to) – you can use what you got, and you might even already have the perfect thing. If not, you know have a clear idea of what you will keep your eyes open for – namely anything that reminds you of that vision you have.

As you can tell, no rules apply here – only your dreams and your creativity rules.

Also, it doesn’t have to be those big, major, life-changing goals – it could be anything that would bring you some more joy in your everyday life or something you might just want more of.

Like, if you long to start cooking more at home for example – bring out some inspiring cookbooks on your kitchen counter or a shelf, so you see them all the time. Want to read more? Put a pile of compelling books by the couch or at the coffee table.

Or maybe you’re secretly playing with the idea to pick up that tap-dancing thing you did as a kid – and put your childhood’s super cute tap-dancing shoes on a shelf (if you haven’t decluttered them, that is…?).

You get it;

Anything you want to bring into your life,
bring symbols of it into your space.

Items with intentions – places with purpose

The great thing is that you can apply this to all areas of life, and any room in your home – just try to place the things in the space that it most relates too.

To give you some inspiration for each room, I listed a few ideas here;

✨ Bedroom – love, relationship, intimacy, rest.

✨ Living room – togetherness, fun, recreation, interests, hobbies.

✨ Kitchen or dining room – nourishing food, get-together’s, family, friends.

✨ Workspace – finances, freedom, creativity, connections.

✨ Kid’s room – curiosity, exploration, play, fantasy.

✨ Bathroom – relaxation, rejuvenation, self-care.

This is all about taking your dreams seriously but doing it with play and joy. Sort of preparing while already having it there, or like outfitting your dreamland – could it be more fun?!??

And finally; this is not a “set and forget”-thing. Keep your awareness and make sure the things you surround yourself with are up to date with what you want in your life. Somethings might stay forever, others might change over time.

So, go ahead and create space – both literarily and figuratively – for your dreams, wishes, and desires and the life you want!?

Over to you!
